This course provides rehabilitation professionals with the foundational knowledge and clinical skills necessary to effectively participate in wound prevention, assessment, and management. Participants will explore the anatomy and physiology of the integumentary system, common wound etiologies, risk factors for skin breakdown, and the phases of wound healing. The course emphasizes comprehensive wound assessment, including wound measurement, tissue identification, and recognition of healing progress, while introducing evidence-based interventions. Through a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and skilled documentation, learners will gain practical strategies to support wound healing, improve functional outcomes, and enhance quality of life for individuals at risk for or living with wounds.
