This training describes the required elements for responding to the emerging needs of long term care communities to provide sensitive and respectful services to LGBT elders.  The training reviews definitions related to sexual orientation and gender identity, challenges experienced by LGBT older adults, and strategies for communication and policies that honor residents’ rights.  Educational level: Intermediate. Contact hours: 1.0 Target audience: OT, COTA, PT, PTA, SLP Satisfactory completion criteria: Complete pre-/post-test, view all modules and video clips, complete all associated quizzes, submit course evaluation.  This course is approved by CA Board of Nursing Provider #CEP17058.
