HIPAA Privacy, Security and Breach Notification: Developing a Culture of Compliance

This training session is designed to provide therapists with the nuts and bolts about the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), particularly as it relates to patient privacy. Strict guidelines for maintaining privacy, confidentiality, and security of health information are also part of HIPAA legislation and are reviewed.  The training provides an in-depth review of the components of the HIPAA right of access and how therapists can successfully integrate aspects of the HIPAA access into their daily practice.  Educational level:  Introductory.  Contact hours:  1.0  Target audience:  OT, COTA, PT, PTA, SLP  Satisfactory completion criteria:  Complete pre-/post-test, view all modules and video clips, complete all associated quizzes, submit course evaluation.
