The goal of aural rehabilitation is to restore quality of life by eliminating or circumventing such limitations through sensory management, instruction in the use of technology, perceptual training to improve speech perception and counseling to enhance participation.  This course will cover the Medicare requirements for medical necessity of aural rehabilitation, to include example goals, current allowed codes and evidence based practice clinical techniques. Further support will be offered for healthcare staff to utilize person centered care strategies to improve quality of life as well as positive outcomes. Educational level: Intermediate.
