Music is complex and is known to have a wide array of emotional and physiological responses for a range of people and their environmental situations.  This course will initiate an exploration of the effects of music on different clinical characteristics, ranging from the effects on certain disease processes to those of specific symptoms and vital signs.  From that point, the evidence will be reviewed of how music may be added to therapeutic interventions to achieve the desired clinical outcomes.  Educational level:  Intermediate.  Contact hours:  2.5  Target audience:  OT, COTA, PT, PTA, SLP  Satisfactory completion criteria:  Complete pre-/post-test, view all modules and video clips, complete all associated quizzes, submit course evaluation.
