Lymphedema is a condition of localized fluid retention and tissue swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system. Tissues with lymphedema are at high risk of infection and wounds. Addressing wounds in the treatment of lymphedema can be difficult for clinicians.   This seminar will describe the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system in relation to risks for developing wounds. The presenters will identify how to differentiate between edema and lymphedema. Additionally, this session will focus on different types and stages of wounds commonly occurring in patients living with lymphedema. This session will also outline wound management interventions for people living with lymphedema.   Contact hours:  2.0  Target audience:  OT, COTA, PT, PTA Satisfactory completion criteria:  Complete pre-/post-test, view all modules and video clips, complete all associated quizzes, submit course evaluation.  AOTA Content Focus -- Domain of Occupational Therapy: Client Factors
