Approximately, 54 million Americans have osteoporosis and low bone mass. By 2025, experts predict that osteoporosis will be responsible for approximately three million fractures and $25.3 billion in costs annually. There are ways to prevent a decrease in bone mass but there is no known cure for osteoporosis. As a result, rehabilitation clinicians must be prepared to help prevent the disease from occurring, manage the symptoms and increase the  functional ability in this patient population. This seminar will prepare clinicians to develop an effective plan of care and interventions for patients living with osteoporosis.
