The assessment of all factors related to a person’s swallowing function and deficits is critical to being able to determine the most effective plan of intervention.  This course will review significant assessment components, to include the clinical bedside exam, instrumental exam, medication analysis and multiple potential contributing factors from upper gastrointestinal & aerodigestive disorders known to influence the swallowing function.  Contact hours:  3.0  Target audience:  OT, COTA and SLP  Satisfactory completion criteria:  Complete pre-/post-test, view all modules and video clips, complete all associated quizzes, submit course evaluation.  ASHA approved for .30 ASHA CEUs. AOTA Content Focus -- Domain of OT: Occupations.
